Live For Christ Today And All The Days of Your Life!
Are you waiting for 31st December to make new year resolutions like you did last year? But, what if 31st December doesn’t come?
Better still, what if it comes but you’re nowhere to be found? What would you do?
You see, when you open the Bible to Hebrews 9:27, it says,
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
And indeed, we fear death, but not God, forgetting that judgement awaits us after this life. However, none of us know when he/she is going to die. So how do we ensure the judgement we receive after this life goes well for us? Simple, living as God commands us to. Living outside of Christ is no life at all. Real living is when you live in Christ Jesus.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5
And when you make that wise choice, you ensure each day of your life is lived for Him and Him alone. Don’t play hide and seek with the Lord like we do as kids with our parents or siblings. Walk closely with the Lord one step at a time each day till He calls you home.
When you’re living the Will of God for your life, you will not have fear for tomorrow. And you will always be fulfilled deep inside, knowing that you’re living as He wants you to and not the contrary.
for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Philippians 2:13
You’re Not Wiser Than God!
We often think ourselves wiser than the creator. Many of us have dedicated days for God, and these are the days where we put up the best behavior. The kind that tells people that “I’m a Christian today”. In my home country Ghana, if you hear someone you’ve provoked tell you “you’re lucky today is Sunday”, then you don’t need to be told what this person can do to you any other day. Hmmm! Christianity today.
We have literally made it a ritual to rededicate our lives to God on 31st December of every year. The time to go before God with ‘repentant hearts’ to seek for His forgiveness for all the sins we committed in the year. And at the same time make promises to be obedient, do better, behave well, live holy, do His Will etc. We make so many promises we know deep down within our hearts that we will not keep, yet we go ahead and make them. Making a promise might look easy, but fulfilling it is where the problem is. But we don’t consider that, as long as God is merciful. This is an error! We must flee from such lifestyle and live each day to please the Lord.
What is interesting is that, for all the days in the year, the only times we want to be holy is during Easter and Christmas. If you are such a person, I think you should stop living like that and settle down with the Lord. Live all the days of your life for Him.
Don’t be like every other person. Be a Child of God all the days of your life and give no room for the devil to lead you into disobedience.
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. Matthew 25:13
